Emergency Operations Plan

Emergency Operations Plan

Here at Temple, we take our commitment to safeguarding the well-being of our students, faculty, staff, visitors, and the entire community very seriously—especially during times of crisis, disaster, or emergency. A coordinated and uniform response is crucial, and that’s why our updated Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) is so vital to our campus community.

Why We Have an EOP

Our comprehensive EOP is your go-to resource for understanding how we prepare for, mitigate, respond to, and recover from any large-scale event that could impact our community, environment, infrastructure, or daily life at Temple. Thanks to the tireless efforts of the Office of the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, the Office of Emergency Management, Risk Management, and the Department of Public Safety, we've designed a plan that is both thorough and actionable.

This plan aligns with federal, state, and local laws governing emergency management, and we proudly incorporate the National Incident Management System and Incident Command System into our operations.

A Unified Approach to Safety

Every department at the University with emergency responsibilities has received and reviewed this important plan. We believe that preparedness is a shared responsibility—when emergencies arise, we all play a part in ensuring a coordinated response. It’s comforting to know that Temple University is ready to respond to and recover from any disaster, whether it’s natural, technological, or human-generated.

Empower Yourself and Stay Prepared!

We encourage all students, faculty, and staff to proactively prepare themselves, their families, pets, and property for any emergency situation. Our Emergency Operations Plan includes essential guidance to help you do just that.

Together, let's ensure that our Temple community is safe, prepared, and resilient!
