Get Involved with TUready!

Welcome to the TUready community at Temple University! We invite you to join our mission to foster a culture of preparedness and build a disaster-resilient university.

Join the Building Emergency Management Team (BEMT)

The Building Emergency Management Team (BEMT) is a vital group of staff, faculty, and students who guide the community during emergencies. Anyone can become a member of the BEMT! We offer special skills training, social events, and an annual banquet to strengthen relationships and enhance collaboration.

What BEMTs Do:

  • Evacuation: Direct occupants to designated rally points.
  • Shelter-in-Place: Guide occupants to areas within the building that lack windows and doors, ensuring safety during severe weather or hazardous incidents outside.
  • Lockdown: Assist in securing the building and direct occupants to safe locations when there is an external threat.

Interested in becoming part of your building's BEMT? Contact us today to join!
