Uber Voucher Pilot Program

Beginning Thursday, September 10, 2026, Temple University is launching a pilot program that will provide eligible students with Uber vouchers for qualifying rides on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

The program is designed to give students additional flexibility when traveling to or from Temple's Main Campus and Health Sciences Center campus, during eligible evening and overnight hours. It supplements Temple's existing transportation services, including Flight.

How the vouchers work

1. Check your Temple email: Eligible students will receive an email containing a unique link to access the Uber voucher offer.
2. Add the vouchers to your Uber account: Follow the link in the email and sign in to your existing Uber account, or create a new one. Accept the offer to add the vouchers to your account.
3. Request an eligible ride: During eligible days and hours, request a ride that begins or ends within the Main Campus or Health Sciences Center campus patrol zones.
4. Review the fare before booking: When a ride qualifies, the available voucher should be applied in the Uber app. Any cost above the voucher value is the student's responsibility.

Eligible rides

A ride must meet all of the following requirements for a voucher to apply:

• The rider is an eligible Temple student who has added the voucher offer to their Uber account.
• The ride takes place on Thursday, Friday or Saturday between 6 p.m. and 3 a.m.
• The ride begins or ends within the Main Campus or Health Sciences Center campus patrol zone.
• The voucher remains available and has not expired or already been used.

Voucher value and ride costs

Each eligible student will receive three (3)  vouchers valued at $10.00 each. A voucher might cover only part of the total ride cost. Students are responsible for any remaining fare, as well as tips etc.

Other Transportation Options 

The Uber voucher pilot supplements Temple's existing transportation services. Flight service will operate at approximately 30-minute intervals.
