A new laboratory is defined as a laboratory room or set of rooms that is/are to be commissioned for use with hazardous materials (Biological, Chemical Radioactive) as academic or research space by a new faculty hire or an existing faculty who has been newly assigned to the give laboratory room.
Action Items for all New Labs
If you are a new faculty setting up your new laboratory or an existing faculty who has been assigned to new lab space:
- Review the EHRS-Reference Guide for Principal Investigators (PI)
- Complete and submit (firstname.lastname@example.org) a Laboratory Registration Form.
Once the form is received, EHRS will schedule a new lab startup meeting with you to discuss applicable safety polices and regulations for your new laboratory.
